Artist and Curator of Fish Lane Studios – Wyn Vogel will share some of her best tips for how to set up and use your materials and the techniques you learn can be used for painting any subject – landscape – florals – portraits!
This is a back to basics Workshop | We will explore the concepts:
- for stretching and supporting your paper
- of mixing your colours – palettes and tone,
- including how to manage your watercolour medium for the most vibrant and wonderful colours to flow across your papers – see the ‘Gum Nuts’ below!
- we will talk the difference and some techniques between the use of pans, tubes and watercolour pencils
Wyn is known for her vibrant, loose mixing and washes – and this Workshop will definitely give you a feel for what is possible.
We are making this introductory Workshop a 2 ½ hours and you will go away with some sample papers and lots of colour swatches and some homework to do 🌞 so you can explore further and decide if this is the medium for you!
Please check the Materials to bring with you to begin or you can buy some of these in the Studio – come 15 minutes early if you would like to shop first!
Yes ………………we are doing this as our Christmas Picnic and Paint – however this sold out over night so we are repeating this Workshop as our first for 2024, it will be a straight Workshop though not a ‘Picnic and Paint’ though we anticipate our new Neighbour will be open on the Deck with us and you will be able to buy some lunch if you need, or bring something with you to snack on!
On the deck under Botanica Residences – Fish Lane Studios
4 Edmondstone Street – South Brisbane – Qld 4101
Wyn will share her techniques and concepts to enable you to consider the beauty of the Coast landscape and create your memories and impressions of that landscape.
You are welcome to bring a favourite image of a Coastal Holiday Spot you love – and you will be able to apply your own twists to the image with Wyn’s help!
