We are holding an initial Exhibition of Japanese Artist – Akira Murata’s Art Work in our Fish Lane Gallery/Workshop South Brisbane – 9 to 22nd August ’17 – 10am to 4pm Tuesdays to Saturdays.
You will be welcome to come and meet the Artist between 11am and 2pm – in Fish Lane – on the 22nd August ’17 prior to us taking Mr Murata up the Coast for his 10 Days Artist-in-Residence – at the Yaroomba Beach Design Centre!

Spend and afternoon in our Studio – South Brisbane – exploring the use of broad and squirrel brush washes – work from your own favourite images or be inspired by our views of beaches on the Sunshine Coast – as Wyn guides you to format your layout and apply the wash!
Absolutely no experience is necessary, step by step instructions with the artist to create your own painting to take with you at the end of the class! Time to relax and take some time for yourself.
Etch and carve your artwork to a 3rd Dimension – Workshop With Artist – Béatrice Prost
Due to the tools to be used and the need for power and space, this Workshop will be limited to 4 people, so we encourage you all to head below and book early!
** All materials will be supplied. You will be working on images created by Béatrice and printed especially for this Workshop.
** The Dremel etching tools are also supplied for this Workshop and you will be etching into heavy cotton rag water colour paper.
Morning tea included – but bring a picnic lunch to enjoy during the Workshop lunch break!

Discover the luscious quality of cold wax medium and oil paints by working on multiple panels and paper, using new techniques, to ‘make your mark’. The emphasis will be on the basic understanding of supports, tools, materials and techniques rather than creating finished works. Participants will be encouraged to experiment and there will be demonstrations and discussion about allowing the work to gradually unfold in the process of building up layers…balancing intention with intuition. Notes on techniques will be provided, recipe for making your own cold wax medium and samples of techniques will be completed during the workshop.
