We are now on a new trajectory – with Fish Lane Studios and Artist Wyn Vogel – moving back to Queensland after another sojourn in Victoria, Australia – so we are celebrating and taking on board the full meaning of this year of The Fire Horse and adopting the spirit of it all – to guide us through this coming year!
The Year of the Fire Horse is a remarkable event in the Chinese zodiac.
While the zodiac cycles every 12 years, the Fire Horse year appears just once every 60 years, making it especially rare, bringing with it – everything the Horse represents resilience, confidence, and progress; qualities associated with bold movement and personal growth with a Fire Horse year, emphasizing passion, action, and transformation entering a new lunar cycle.
With this spirit tucked under our belts – we wish you all Good Fortune, Inspiration and Creativity for 2026!

What will be Workshopped?
- Techniques for discovering shadow in your Artwork – and time of day
- Techniques for lost and found loose washes
- The use of Mixed Media – Ink and Gouache

This Workshop at the Club Yeronga is to support the Program that Jenny Loveday is working through to create and opportunity to link Artists from remote and rural locations with Artists from the cities – so offering opportunities for great collaborations and exchange of scenery and inspiration – opportunities to grow with each other – which is the mantra of our Australian Watercolour Muster – so we are getting behind Jenny for this program which takes place in the Balonne Shire – Western Queensland. We will release more details and links to this Event as they become available – but below are the Dates so far

ART Paint Out 2026
ST GEORGE, THALLON, NINDIGULLY, DIRRANBANDI, MUNGINDI, HEBEL, BOLLON
• Welcome Artists to paint and draw across ALL mediums and for participants of ALL levels.
• MAIN PAINT OUT DAY: Sunday 26th April 2026
Location: on the Banks of the Balonne River, St George Qld
• 4-DAY “Perfect Landscape Experience” 24 – 27th April
Location: Areas around the Balonne shire – self drive and possible bus to be announced to facilitate and explore an organised experience of the regions landscape (including paint out day 26th) – more details to come!
