As a cross media artist, I couldn’t have been more swept away by the combination of events that set the scene for our 1st Artist in Residence – a mix of art and music!
Beautiful young singer – Doolie Shadforth set the ‘Vibe’ on the Opening Night for the whole week – a creative moody tune we took with us through the days!
Yuko immediately connected and impromptu work flowed from her fingers!
If you would like to hear Doolie sing > head to her play lists
With Artists flying in from as far afield as Malaysia, Sydney and Brisbane to mix it with local Sunshine Coast Artists – our goal to bring international skills and talent to the Sunshine Coast was well met.
Yuko Nagayama took the first few days of her Art Residency to sketch the landscape from Noosa Heads to The Glass House Mountains > see our previous Blog. However, many of the Participants had flown in to learn Yuko’s secrets behind the amazing flowers and still life that are her signature!
So with a selection of wonderful ‘cut flowers’ thanks to our fabulous Coolum Beach Florist – Flax Flowers who on both days we needed flowers had a selection hard to find even in a bigger city!
It was wonderful to hear the excitement in our visiting artist Anne Koh – from Malaysia as she produced a work she was really happy with!
Super imposing images and creating an image worthy of her long distance travel!
Gorgeous colours and the reflection of the glass can be seen in the works that filled the arches 300gsm rough water colour paper – credits to Sandy Archer below!
