Open Edition Reproduction Stories of the Silk Road intrigue and inspire - This Work was painted and selected for Exhibition in the XI Silk Road International Art Festival - 2019 held in Xi'an China - significantly as this is, the city is at the far end of the Silk Road which runs from Istanbul to Xi'an and in now being recreated as a modern trade route. The lotus flower meaning in Buddhism also refers to rebirth and the core belief of reincarnation. ... The purple lotus flower is mystical and spiritual and it's eight petals signify the Noble Eight-fold Path to self-awakening in the Buddhist teachings.......this noble eight-fold path: right view, right aspiration, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right concentration. That is the ancient path, the ancient road, traveled by the rightly self-awakened ones of former times. This Work was hung and then censored in Xi'an in September 2019 ...perhaps for the above connotations!
