DESCRIPTION:Do You Have Questions You Would Like Answered!\nOr Maybe Techniques You Want to Explore?\nJoin me in the Studios for this first series of ‘Small Workshops’ deliberately held to only 5 participants – so we have time to chat and play with colour and water to see if we can answer your questions! \nHands on help to try different techniques and surf – across things that have bothered you – or which you would like time to discover more deeply? \nMaterials to Bring\n\nAll you art tools – that you have brushes – palettes to squeeze you tube paints into – please don’t bring pans – they are too restrictive!\nAt least one sheet of cold pressed 300gsm watercolour paper – any brand – or a pad – 300gsm cold pressed that you can tear off the paper from.\nA backing board and tape to tape your paper down to be able to easily move and lift your paper as needed.\nTubes of paints that you have – any colours – we are about to experiment!\nIDEAS – AND QUESTIONS – THESE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEM TO BRING – as we are about discovering answers for you 🤩 hopefully!!\n\nQuestions can be around techniques – materials and/or just general information about the Art world – how to find your way around – printing and publishing – it’s an open conversation!

SUMMARY:Discovering Local - Overlooking Robe Beach Sth Australia - Landscape ....Exploring sea and land with Artist Wyn Vogel - 24th August 2025
DESCRIPTION:We are exploring a local scene –\ntaken from a lookout over the popular beach\nRobe – South Australia\nThe image selected by my Students took in the total view from the Lookout overseeing the scene across the water to the village of Robe – we are using this image to understand the colours of the south\, which being a Queenslander I am still discovering this transition and to explore techniques to create soft loose water/seascape  profiles! \n\nWe will start the day with some ‘Water Exercises’ – using our brushes to twist and shape the waves.\nAfter this we will do a ½ sheet 56 x 38cm Workshop image of the scene adopting the techniques practiced in the morning!\n\n \nMaterials to bring:\nAll of these items listed below are available to buy in Studio if you don’t have them! \n\nAt least 1 sheet Arches 300gsm Cold Pressed Watercolour Paper\nAnd some smaller sheets of watercolour paper to try out ideas and techniques for making your ‘WATER’ sing – again experimental so these can be scraps from other Work if you have them!\n\nPAINTS | Watercolour Paint in tubes preferably:\nbut please bring whatever colours you have in your kit: \n\nCerulean Blue\nIndigo\nCadmium Yellow – Deep\nPerylene Green\nGreen Gold\nQuinacridone Gold\nAlizarin Crimson and/or Organic Vermilion – or similar colours\n\nBrushes – at least those below –\nbut please bring whatever brushes you have in your kit: \nAt Least 1 of each brush below – more will help you: \n\n1 each x 1/2 inch and 3/4inch Angle Shader\n1 x wide wash brush at least 2 inches in width – for wet work\, we recommend the 2 inch Art Spectrum Soft Varnish Brush – I would recommend you have at least 2 with you\, and\n1 x wide dry brush at least 2 inches in width – feel it with you hand and maker sure it is very soft Goat Hair recommended – for dry work –\n1 x Squirrel Needle point or Chinese style calligraphy brush for detailed line work and layering of your colours – we recommend No10 – NEEF Squirrel Needle Point – see the images below and on the cover photo for guidance!\n\nOther Tools:\n\nA palette to put you paint on – we mix on the paper – but you need something to squeeze your paint onto from the tube.\n1 x old kitchen spray bottle – washed out and ready to have clean water to spray across your paints – I recommend an old ‘Windex’ Bottle of similar to give you a good spray of water.\na 2B pencil and if you would like a rubber\nHair dryer to dry your work between layers\nBacking board to tape your sample papers down (core board or similar from Bunnings) and tape to manage your paper – we don’t use an easel we tape the paper to the backing board so we can move the paper and tilt or turn as needed to manage your paint and water.\n\nRemember to BYO your own lunch – bring your mug – Tea and Coffee are available all day!\nREFUND POLICY\n** refunds will be in full if we are notified 72 hours ahead of the Dates\, \n** we will withhold the card fee\, but refund bookings notified within 24 hours of the Workshops – however\, \n** if there is a no-show on the day without notification\, we will not refund the ticket at that time.

DESCRIPTION:Briar Roses – 56 x 38cm\nArches Cold Pressed Watercolour Paper\nHave you ever wondered how an Artist is able to have this wonderful transition of light between and around their subject – this Workshop is designed to help you discover the beauty and translucence that you can create by using a mix of techniques\, commencing with a wet-on-wet substrate. \nAs you can see you can still achieve some stunning vibrant colours – so there is nothing to be afraid of – come and join Artist Wyn Vogel – in her Hamilton Victoria Studio – for this small group Workshop – limit 10 participants – BYO own lunch\, but tea and coffee on the hob for you as needed! \nBring a Picnic Lunch and a Mug\nThis is a full day Workshop – from 10am to 2pm or there about – so bring a picnic lunch – tea and coffee are available and a fridge of cool water is at your fingertips. \nArt Materials to Bring With You:\nAll of these items listed below are available to buy in Studio if you don’t have them – ! \n\nAt least 1 sheet Arches 300gsm Cold Pressed Watercolour Paper\nAnd some smaller sheets of watercolour paper to try out ideas – again experimental so these can be scraps from other Work if you have them!\n\nPAINTS | Watercolour Paint – Watercolour Pencils – Watercolour Inks – \nbut please bring whatever colours you have in your kit – this is a floral Workshop so you can vary the colours of your flowers to whatever you like – but Wyn Suggests at least: \n\nUltramarine Blue\nIndigo\nCadmium Yellow – Deep\nPhthalo Blue\nAlizarin Crimson and/or Deep Cadmium Red – or similar colours – you are welcome to bring colours of your favourite roses see the images on the montage of Roses\n\nBrushes – at least those below – \nbut please bring whatever brushes you have in your kit: \nAt Least 1 of each brush below – more will help you: \n\n1 each x 1/2 inch and 3/4inch Angle Shader\n1 x wide wash brush at least 2 inches in width – for wet work\, we recommend the 2 inch Art Spectrum Soft Varnish Brush – I would recommend you have at least 2 with you\, and\n1 x wide dry brush at least 2 inches in width – feel it with you hand and maker sure it is very soft Goat Hair recommended – for dry work –\n1 x Squirrel Needle point or Chinese style calligraphy brush for detailed line work and layering of your colours – we recommend No10 – NEEF Squirrel Needle Point – see the images below and on the cover photo for guidance!\n\nOther Tools:\n\n1 x old kitchen spray bottle – washed out and ready to have clean water to spray across your paints – I recommend an old ‘Windex’ Bottle of similar to give you a good spray of water.\na 2B pencil and if you would like a rubber\nHair dryer to dry your work between layers\nBacking board to tape your sample papers down (core board or similar from Bunnings) and tape to manage your paper – we don’t use an easel we tape the paper to the backing board so we can move the paper and tilt or turn as needed to manage your paint and water.\n\nRemember to BYO your own lunch – bring your mug – Tea and Coffee are available all day!\n \n \nREFUND POLICY \n** refunds will be in full if we are notified 72 hours ahead of the Dates\, \n** we will withhold the card fee\, but refund bookings notified within 24 hours of the Workshops – however\, \n** if there is a no-show on the day without notification\, we will not refund the ticket at that time. \n
