Born of a Volcano – Artist Béatrice Prost
Born from a Volcano As one flies above this perfectly circular atoll one becomes aware of the transient life of this sea jewel. Created from an extinct volcano, the circle of its very existence is surrounded by water. This mixed media work by artist Béatrice PROST captures its ephemeral existence in a geographical and geological sense. This Work is now cleared for Auction! The proceeds from the sale of this Artwork (less cost of transport unless covered by the buyer or other sponsor) have been donated by the Artist to assist the relocation of the Carteret Island people of Papua New Guinea, who are having to move off their atoll due to rising sea levels, eating away their land, inundating their vegetable gardens with salt water – and having their palms and even homes being swept out to sea > check this story out:  http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-08-07/carteret-climate-refugees-new-home/7693950 Fish Lane Studios will ship nationally and internationally – please contact us re freight for this Work - 45x45cm > http://www.fishlanestudios.com/contact/

Kym Barrett  ‘Ideally, a human life should be a constant pilgrimage of discovery.  The most exciting discoveries happen at the frontiers’.  John O’Donohue, Irish poet In 2016, I made a pilgrimage of discovery to the wild and sacred edges of Ireland and Scotland, responding to a call whispered to me for years. The Celtic connection with the landscape resonated with me strongly.  The rhythms and topography of the physical terrain are metaphors for the interior landscape. The paintings that subsequently emerged revealed a particular connection to wilderness areas and muted autumn tones, the stillness of waterways and the mystery and memory of these ancient places. My waxed paper vessels are metaphors for the vulnerability of the human condition in the face of encounter with unknown experiences.

The Last Dance

The Last Dance

oil on canvas - 606 x 410mm Murata has always dreamed of owning his own building dedicated to the arts. It would be a place where art lovers and collectors could gather. In June of 2009 his dream, “Vasenoir” was completed. On entering the building, you can find his personal atelier (studio) and a charming Parisian style café. The second floor of the building houses a large ballet studio, which now influences a large part of Akira's Work! Akira Murata is in private collections worldwide and 2012 marked the year his superb art became available for acquisition in the United States.

Now available for purchase here in Australia!
