In 2016, I made a pilgrimage of discovery to the wild and sacred edges of Ireland and Scotland, responding to a call whispered to me for years.
The Celtic connection with the landscape resonated with me strongly. The rhythms and topography of the physical terrain are metaphors for the interior landscape.
The paintings that subsequently emerged revealed a particular connection to wilderness areas and muted autumn tones, the stillness of waterways and the mystery and memory of these ancient places.
My waxed paper vessels are metaphors for the vulnerability of the human condition in the face of encounter with unknown experiences.
