This Series of Work draws on Artist – Alex Ashton’s Colour of Memory
As a painter and print maker – her materials and medium interconnect to explore the immersive experience of ‘place’, the colour of memory and the mark of intention.
Recent work has focused on gesture as a means of containing relational memories.
The Australian landscape is investigated as a repository, a witness, to the activity of the natural and man made world, investigating the landscape as a site which can record and reveal aspects of human experience through our interaction with it.
The vitality of painting and drawing within the immersive environment provides a structure through which temporality is both experienced and explored.
