We are Inviting you to come to Corryong for a Weekend 4th and/or 5th April for Experimental Art Workshop/s – to help recreate the ‘Spirit’ of Art for this community!

So much has happened since the first ‘summer fires’ here in Australia – Australia has pulled together to help start to rebuild our fire ravaged towns and families.

Our amazing network of International Artists linked to Fish Lane Studios were also quick to get onto the email and txt and see how they can help.

We set up a Facebook Fundraiser and the funds raised from this Facebook Fundraiser have already gone across, and are continuing to go as they come in – directly to Corryong to help them put back together some of the infrastructure for their annual ‘Arts Festival’ – connected with the amazing ‘Man From Snowy River Bush Festival’.

This was almost cancelled this year – but with strength and support the Corryong Community decided to go ahead and invite you all to come to join them and raise their spirits!!

So we have added to our Fund Raiser and are INVITING YOU………… to come and enjoy an amazing Workshop – where your Workshops Fees will go directly to the Community – thanks to the generosity of Canson Australia – who are supplying all the materials and Artist – Lynette Orzlowski’s time !

The Town of Corryong and ‘The Man From Snowy River Festival’

Thanks to information from the ‘Victorian High Country Official Website’ – Corryong is a small town in Victoria, Australia 120 kilometres east of Albury-Wodonga, near the upper reaches of the Murray River and close to the New South Wales border. At the 2016 census, Corryong had a population of 1,348. The post office opened on 1 February 1874. The town also has its own airport……… so if you fly you are welcome to organise a landing space!! 🌞

These were the images the town of Corryong faced during these recent fires and what the town is like during normal seasons –

Corryong is open for business even though they have lost quite a lot of buildings and homes even in town – with farms and outlying areas being very badly hit.

The organising committee have lost lights, hessian and much of their festival infrastructure – but the funds from these ‘Event’s will go straight to helping them rebuild and organise.

Accommodation in/around Corryong:

Due to the fires and loss of homes in the area it is hard to find accommodation in Corryong itself – so these are the ideas for you to help over the weekend of the 4/5th April 2020.

You do NOT – have to buy a full Festival Ticket to attend the ‘Experimental Art Workshops’ with Lynette but to attend the Full Festival Arena you will need to buy a Festival Ticket:

  • For Tickets to the actual ‘Man From Snowy River Bush Festival‘ itself and camping information >>>> https://www.bushfestival.com.au/tickets-camping/
  • The local Corryong Neighbourhood Centre 02 6076 2176 keep an up to date list of anyone who may be providing short term accommodation in the area.
  • Also the Corryong Information Center can provide a heads up as to what else may be available.
  • Jeff Sheather is the ‘Man From Snowy River Bush Festival’ – Event Manager +61 2 6948 4173 He owns Brigham House B&B at Tooma – which is a lovely 32 minutes drive from Corryong.

– Lynette Orzlowski –

Freelance Artist and Canson® Australia Account Manager

Born in Melbourne, Australia. Lynette’s love of the creative has been a driving force and has such mastered many different mediums and holds a wealth of information on a great number of mediums and substrates. The wonder of colour and light has been a constant inspiration for her now for over three decades of painting.

She has established herself in the art community through solo exhibitions and group shows as a highly respected painter and she is often invited to demonstrate her craft Intrastate, Interstate and Internationally. She has taught painting professionally and privately for well over two decades and her commitment and passion for art is revealed in her involvement in several art societies and committees. Being a sort after art show judge for several select art societies and expos throughout the years.

Lynette’s disciplined approach in her study of the horse has been greatly emphasized by spending countless hours at events, shows and tracing through the sometimes-muddy paddocks. Inspired by what she sees, Lynette then goes back into the studio, transforming them into two – dimensional artworks, all the while putting great emphasis on the technical execution.

Anyone who appreciates classic elegance can’t help but be drawn in by what she creates……………… so come and join her for this workshop – choose your best day Saturday or Sunday – remembering only 10 places are available each day!

On The Way Home –

Another of Lynette’s intriguing and engaging Works ……… Lynette is a generous and clear Tutor – she will be happy to discuss her methods and experimental approach to her Work with you – across several genre of medium and substrates – a chance to experiment with the ‘professionals’
