This story starts with a call in October 2017 – to Watercolour Artists from all over Australia to join with me in submitting their Artwork for selection and travel if they were able ……… to head to Italy in May 2018 for what would seem to be one of the biggest Watercolour Meetups in the World – FabrianoInAcquarello – 2018 ………. which in the end has attracted Artists from 70 Countries this year!! We selected 13 Australian Artists to represent us – but only 7 of us could travel to Fabriano – Italy next year maybe more….!
With our work hanging in – Oratorio della Carità
Such wonder to see our contemporary Works hanging amongst this stunningly restored home to 15 frescoes.
The Oratorio was decorated in the end of XVI century with a series of valuable frescoes made by the mannerist Filippo Bellini (from Urbino). These frescoes represent the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy. The Gothic portal stone comes from the former monastery of St Antonio outside the Walls.
Our Works take on another dimension in comparison!
Portrait of a ‘Weathered Face’ Richard Tiejun Chao – our Australian Representative Artist was hanging in the foyer!
Our other Australian Artists were hung with as much prestige in the
Museo della Carta e della Filigrana
Artists Represented – Bruce Buchanan: Tony Walker: Graham Smith: Roslyn Hartwig: Pam Walpole: Maria Field: Szczepan Urbanowicz: Cynthia Stewart: Jude Scott: Yasaman Dehghan: Alex Ashton:
