Artist Statement ‘From the Ashes’

The 4 artworks I have created are a representation of the loss but also the hope for the future, that in time the survivors from the fires will rise ‘From the Ashes’.

I have decided to paint the native Australian wildlife in ash colour tones to represent the bleak burnt ground that is left behind long after the fire has passed, with the addition of a splash of colourful sprouting flora representing new beginnings and a butterfly, transformation.

About the Artist

Ada Chen is our Under 30’s Emerging Artist – Winner of this Category in the Australian Watercolour Muster – 2020/21 We are very proud to showcase and share Ada’s 1st Solo Exhibition here in Brisbane @ The Art Hub – River La Vie Cafe Tennyson Reach from the 8th to the 24th April – 2022. Ada has at this very young age evolved the capability to capture a moment – to capture an emotion and share it with the viewer – these Works will never age as they capture the essence of humanity and life!
