With a background in photography and botanical illustration Jolanta’s textile practice focuses mainly on “Zero Waste Design”, a philosophy and practice that eliminates any waste during the creative process. The designs adapt to any shape through textile and surface manipulation and are results on many years of experience working with textile and natural fibers. By focusing on sustainable choices Jolanta pays respect to the role and importance of the environment around her. Her unique, one-off art cloth, artwear or wearables are solely using 100% natural fibers – pure Australian wool/merino, silks and linen.
Every object created is used or worn in multiple ways reflecting my deep respect and appreciation for the natural environment, the ultimate inspiration and precious resource used in the process.
Works on paper capturing beauty and fragility of the botanical specimens and fibres are latest addition to Jolanta’s practice.
