Watermarks up the Noosa River – Béatrice Prost 3rd April to 17 April 2017
April 3 - April 17
The Noosa Everglades is known as the ‘river of mirrors’ – though at times there can be turbulence and chop on a beautiful Queensland summers
day the drift of the river intrigues and entraps the Artist!
Black Mirror (detail)
Beatrice shares her emotions and personal narration drifting up the Everglades by bringing this unique part of the biosphere inside walls.
Digital but handmade, her original hand carved large works on paper connect her digital world to a more traditional hand crafted mark making process. Through incised dots and linear scars, she intuitively free hand “draws” white organic patterns that connect to the environment.
